Horrified that Hope has been manipulated by John Stape’s biographer, Fiz and Adam meet with the publisher of the book this week and implore her to remove any reference to the little girl from the finished product. However, Tyrone’s unwittingly about to sabotage all their efforts…
Finding a leaflet advertising a Q&A session for the tell-all tome at a local hotel, the protective dad decides to attend – but when the journalist suggests that Fiz was complicit in her late husband’s crimes, the red mist descends. Climbing on to the stage, Tyrone slaps him around the face and soon he’s under arrest for assault!
Devastated by her boyfriend’s behaviour, Fiz begs the writer not to press charges but worse is to come when she later discovers that a video of the incident has gone viral – and as a result of the extra publicity, the book’s launch date has been brought forward to the end of the week! Hope’s distraught to learn what’s happened, and as she rails at her parents for their behaviour, the police arrive at No 9.
While an angry Hope heads off to stay at Chesney’s, Tyrone decides to buy up every copy of the book and the publicity cut-out of John Stape from the local shop to try and minimise the damage it will cause. But his gesture backfires when his daughter pops back home and, peeking into the outhouse, is stunned to find a cardboard image of her birth father staring out at her…
